"Greased Lightnin" our 2007 Fashion Show/Trade Expo and Scholarship Event was a Huge Success. There were over 200 people in attendance and 24 vendors that were able to promote their business'... What a rewarding experience to listen to Joanne Kassar, our Scholarship Committee Chairmen, as she listed the credentials of the scholarship winners. The following three students represented high standards of scholastic achievement and personal promise in furthering their education goals and were the recipients of our WCR N. Broward and Home Banc scholarships: Dominick M. Curry, Laura E. DeFries and Laura J. Diaz de Arce.

The Mid Year Meeting in Washington, D.C. was held May 16-20th. We had a GREAT representation from our chapter. In attendance were: Kathleen Price, P.E.; Patti Smead, V.P. Membership; Esther Kalbach, By Laws Chair; Chuck Bonifi glio. RAGFL Past President; Ann DeFries, WCR National President Elect and Brenda Ghibaudi, Past National President. The mood seemed very positive on Capital Hill regarding our current tax issues. We had a surprise visit from Congressman Ron Klein and Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz at the RAGFL dinner. They truly understand our concerns and are acting on our behalf!

The year is going by so quickly, and we have so many opportunities to network with our upcoming events. Our website still needs a little bit of work, but it is up and running!
